If you’re anything like me, you’ve read through hundreds of outdoor websites and have invested far too much time in discovering what there is to learn about dealing with nature and beyond. Whether these sites are about hiking, camping or bushcraft, it doesn’t really matter. They’re all rabbit holes and sometimes I feel like if finding great sites and getting lost in them was a job, I’d be a rich man. I do a heck of the lot of this stuff.
Since I’m online so much and since I’ve discovered some absolutely invaluable resources, I thought it would be a good idea to list my discoveries here for you to make use of. It’s strange how this website works. I look things up, learn about them and then take advantage of what I’ve learned. And then I share these things with you. Then, by my sharing, I end up learning even more. Conversation start and then the entire thing folds back over on itself. It’s rather circular if you think about it.
Okay, so I’m confident that I know what I’m talking about when I see a great resource. There are tons of skilled outdoor enthusiasts out there and they’ve got so much to teach. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead you to them, if you haven’t already done that for yourself. What do I look for in these people and their blogs or websites? Well, I first look for quality. Is what they share accurate? Is their content worth sharing? Is the website captivating? Does it have a wow factor to it? Am I proud to tell others about it? As you can see, I’m fairly picky when it comes to these things. I don’t look through and do website and blog write-ups for lousy sites, so you can rest assured that what I list down below is the good stuff. It’s the stuff everyone wants to know about.
I’m going to list the following websites in a few different categories. I’ll start off with camping and then I’ll move onto hiking, bushcraft and then maybe a few more. I always wanted to get into prepping and homesteading, but I’m not sure those areas will make it on this blog. In all honesty, the three categories I listed first are huge enough to keep me busy for the next few years.
And finally, if you have an idea for a website that should be on this page, I’d appreciate it if you would email me the suggestion. I’ll give things a once over and add it here if it’s warranted. Thanks!
PS – There’s no way this list is going to limit itself to only 50 websites. I’m going to pass that mark very quickly!
