DailyOutdoors.US is aggressively pursuing the outdoor bushcraft, camping and hiking space on the internet. Our goal is to become a premier resource for those in search for related blog posts, interviews and a community of other like-minded outdoor enthusiasts. We absolutely adore the field we’ve chosen to cultivate here and we’d like to sincerely invite you to join us for the ride. We feel as though our success can be enhanced by your viewpoints and your success can be enhanced by our continuously growing resource.
With that said, we are constantly on the hunt for talented writers and photographers to join our mission, so if you’re skilled in the art of communication and have a good eye for wildlife, landscapes or any other interesting outdoors phenomenon, please let us know. We’d like to hear from you to see what we can offer one another. We pride ourselves on being dynamic and cutting edge and we’re intent on finding authors and photographers with passion, a keen eye for detail and tremendous knowledge in their chosen field. We want our readers to learn something every time they visit us, so quality and clarity is key. An underlying love for what you do is important too. We want you to have fun because that’s the type of thing that’s expressed through various types of creativity.
To be considered as a guest author or photographer on DailyOutdoors, you should have the ability to demonstrate skill in your craft. You should be experienced in one or more of the areas we focus on in this publication, whether it be walking through the woods identifying trees, insects or plants, or hiking to the top of your state’s highest peaks. If you’re a master at lighting fires in the rain at night, we want to hear from you. If you’ve survived sub-zero temperatures in only a sleeping bag, we want to hear from you. No matter how skilled you are in the outdoors though, we do require that you have the uncanny ability to clearly and effectively communicate your point of view or knowledge to beginners and seasoned outdoor enthusiasts alike. We want our readers to emphatically share your article or photographs with others when they’re finished enjoying them here. That’s how good we’d like your contribution to be.
Does this sound like something you’re interested in? If it does, please send us a message that includes the following items:
– Send us some sources of what you’ve previously contributed on the internet. Please be specific. We suggest a minimum of three URLs that will lead us to your work, where you can demonstrate what your skill-set is.
– We’d love to hear your ideas. It would be great to talk about how you might best contribute with regards to your interests. Do you have a method or a structure that you like to follow? Is there something that you absolutely love to write about or capture photographs of? Let us know.
– Have you already written something? If you have a rough draft of what you’d like to see on DailyOutdoors, send it over in plain text. We can go over it together to decide if it’s ready for prime time.
As a side note, we’d like to convey that we’re extremely selective regarding whose skills we choose to grace these pages. At a minimum, your writing contribution should be at least 2500 words with an average of around 3000 words. It should be written to target at least an 8th grade reading comprehension level, while not exceeding an 11th grade reading level. While we completely understand that this is a strict requirement, it helps us to filter through the dozens of requests for contribution we receive every single week. Those who choose to heed this suggestion will be placed at the front of the line. Including this requirement here virtually guarantees the quality we seek.
Now that we’ve covered all of our suggestions for submission, let’s discuss the benefits you’ll receive from us. First, every author who contributes to this website will receive their very own personal author page on DailyOutdoors, as well as a link back to their own social media presence or website in the biography sections that’s located at the bottom of each post they write. We’d also be happy to link to other posts you’ve shared with our audience in your posts as well. Our goal is to give you a feeling of satisfaction and reward for spending time on your writing. Finally, it’s no problem at all for us to give your article a once-over and edit any structural or grammatical errors we feel may need attention. We write for a living, so we’re well versed in what it takes to make it on the web. We can give your article the polish it needs.
Again, thank you for taking the time to consider contributing to DailyOutdoors.US. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you for many years to come!
